Missing Athame

I feel the need to let the community know that someone recently took a very nice hand made pottery athame from my store. It was about 9 inches long and dark color shaped sort of like a goddess. This athame was made by a local potter and infused with herbs and blessed.
It sort of stuns me that someone would steal this item. Soaps, candles, incense and jewelry are things that are often "lifted", but seldom would something as important as an athame be taken. My suspicions are that this will be given as a gift. Obviously, the person who took it did not have much understanding about the use, the craft, etc. so...I don't think it was taken for personal use.
I am used to having things stolen and have sort of come to peace with it, but felt that I should share this...just in case it happened to be a student, etc. You cannot have "perfect trust" with stolen items. I do not want the athame back, but rather wish that the person who took it come to an understanding of what they have done and why.
