Sacred Space Conference Update

Proclaimed by: Jesta Wolfesdottir
Proclaimed from: Arlington, Virginia

Proclamation... The Sacred Space Foundation is pleased to announce the following additional teachers for its upcoming esoteric conference, Sacred Space XVIII. The conference will be held January 18-21, 2008 at the Holiday Inn West Laurel in Laurel, Maryland. Selena Fox, internationally known Wiccan Priestess and Pagan Elder, has agreed to be the first Keynote Presenter. In addition, Andreas Corban Arthen, Ivo Dominguez, Jr., and Raven Kaldrea have each agreed to teach several classes at the Conference.
Andras Corban Arthen is a folk musician, storyteller and poet. He is one of the directors of EarthSpirit Community, a Pagan educational and service organization with an international membership, founded in 1980, in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts. Andras was adopted into the traditional practices of a Scottish family of witches in 1969. He is cunningman of the Glenshire witches, as well as an elder in three other branches of contemporary witchcraft.
Mr. Arthen has represented Pagan traditions at international interfaith conferences and currently serves on the Parliament of the World's Religions Board of Trustees. In 1990, he was one of the organizers and celebrants of the interfaith ceremony that launched Boston’s twentieth celebration of Earth Day, which drew 250, 000 people.
Andras has been featured in the books Witches and Witchcraft, Fire in the Head, Never Again the Burning Times, People of the Earth, Drawing Down the Moon, A Community of Witches, and The New Pagans, and in the award-winning television program Smithsonian World. He has taught and lectured widely at conferences and academic institutions throughout the country and abroad. Mr. Arthen is proud to have been singled out as "a bad role-model for the youth of America" by right-wing Christian zealot Pat Robertson on the 700 Club in 1996.
Ivo Dominguez, Jr. is a writer, an artist, a visionary, and a practitioner of a variety of esoteric disciplines. He has been active in Wicca and the Neo-Pagan community since 1978. He is the convener for Between The Worlds: A Grand Magickal Congress, which is a major interfaith esoteric conference.
Ivo was a founding member of The Assembly of the Sacred Wheel and now serves as one of its Elders. His techniques are rooted in a synthesis of traditional metaphysical teachings, modern science, and memories from past lives. Mr. Dominguez has been published in numerous periodicals and is the author of Castings: The Creation of Sacred Space, Of Spirits: The Book Of Rowan, Beneath The Skins, and the yet to be released Spirits Of Earth And Faerie: The Book Of Ash.
He is also one of the creative forces behind A Dream Whose Time Is Coming, a chant CD that is a fundraiser for the New Alexandrian Library Project, a modern, state of the art facility, comparable to the quality of a university library focused on esoteric materials.
Ivo is one of the owners/stewards of Seelie Court, which is 102 acres of wooded land in Southern Delaware. Along with James C. Welch, Mr. Dominguez is one of the owners of Bell, Book, & Candle, Delaware's largest metaphysical shop.
Raven Kaldera is a Pagan priest, intersex transgender activist, parent, astrologer, musician, and homesteader. He is the author of Hermaphrodeities: The Transgender Spirituality Workbook, MythAstrology: Exploring Planets & Pantheons, Handfasting and Wedding Rituals: Welcoming Hera's Blessing, Pagan Polyamory: Becoming a Tribe of Hearts, and The Urban Primitive: Paganism in the Concrete Jungle. Raven is the founder and King of the Pagan Kingdom of Asphodel, centered on Cauldron Farm in central Massachusetts. He has been a Pagan since the age of 14, when he was accepted into a traditional coven. Since then, he has participated in many diverse traditions, including Gardnerian, Dianic, and granola Paganism, Umbanda, Heithnir, and the Peasant Tradition. Raven’s primary practice is Northern tradition shamanism, inspired by the Norse, Anglo-Saxon, Germanic, Saami and western Siberian aboriginal traditions.
Mr. Kaldera is currently happily married to artist and eco-experimentalist Bella Kaldera, and they have founded the Institute for Heritage Skills at Cauldron Farm, an organic farm where they promote sustainable living and other Green technologies.
