Paula Jean West named new Travel Examiner of the Week
Popular niche topic of Pagan travel out performs everyone’s expectations
For the week of May 17-23, 2009, Paula Jean West caught the attention of the international travel community and media by developing a strong following for her new Examiner column on Pagan travel.
In a report issued on May 25, 2009, Grant Davis, Transportation & Travel Channel Manager for Examiner.com states: Who knew that there was a nice-sized audience for Pagan-related travel? Paula Jean West knew. She’s our Pagan Travel Examiner and she is attracting a credible number of page views thanks to her niche. 303-291-8834 | gdavis@examiner.com
Paula has been writing since 1981 when she graduated cum laude from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA with two bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and English, concentrating on writing skills within each discipline. She was awarded membership in the honorary journalism fraternity Sigma Delta Chi. She was also awarded honorary membership in Virginia Tech’s Northern Virginia Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa.
Paula uses the pen name Branwenn White Raven and has been published in Circle Magazine, PagaNet News, and has her own popular travel blog entitled: Travels With Branwenn. The International Library of Photography featured her photos of the sacred archaeological sites in the British Isles in a collection of award-winning photographs, A Timeless Journey, published in October of 2004.
Paula states: Paganism is one of the fastest growing spiritual paths in America today. Pilgrimages to the ancient, sacred sites are an important part of any major culture and Paganism is no different. It is no surprise to me that my column has taken off the way it has. No matter what our belief system, we all feel the same lure to travel to the great archaeological sites like Stonehenge, Carnac, Newgrange and similar places of mystery and magick. We stand in awe; we remember these experiences and tell our children and grandchildren about the excitement. This wonder is what draws people to read and enjoy my column as they travel along with me on my journeys.
