Support the Vermont Food Bank

The Vermont Food bank is in need of your help. In 2005 statistics showed that 40% of the people using the food bank were making a choice between eating or heating their homes. It also showed that 1 and 7 children in the state of Vermont were wondering where their next meal was coming from. Those statistics were from 3 years ago, and we all know how the rising fuel prices have effected everything. This winter many of our neighbors will be struggling...people on fixed incomes like the elderly and young families. My daughter asked me the other day why it was that the middle class was so often the ones to help out...my answer "There but for the Grace of God go I". In the Karmic rule of 3 we know that good deeds come back to us 3 fold. Make a difference, be a unknown hero!
Most grocery stores have boxes near the check out counter for donation for the food bank. Helping is as simple as picking up an extra jar of jam or vegetables while shopping and placing it in the box when you leave the store.
