January Update at Facing North

Proclaimed by: Lisa Mc Sherry
Proclaimed from: Seattle, Washington

We invite you to take a look at one of the largest online collections of reviews of neopagan/Spiritual/New Age oriented books, music, and other items of interest to our community. Our wonderful team of reviewers have been writing for many years now, and are pleased to share our work with the community

Opened on October 31, 2006 with just over 200 reviews, Facing North is -- first and foremost -- a community resource. We closed out 2006 with more than double our opening number of reviews (500+) . Although we slowed our growth, 2007 ended with our database at more than 600 records.

I haven’t done an update in awhile (darned holidays!) and we’ve got some great things going on that I think you’ll want to know about.

First of all – and best of all -- Welcome to our two new reviewers, Michelle Mueller and Patricia Snodgrass!

We have several articles from Christina Baldwin: “New Year, New Story” - an informative and empowering way to look at New Year's Resolution and “Leaving our Legacy through Story” in which Ms. Baldwin articulates the importance of documenting our stories for future generations.

In February we’ll be publishing her article “Couples Aloud in Bed” -- inspiring words for connecting with our loved ones through story.

John Welshons, author of When Prayers Aren’t Answered gave us an article that explores the question, "Where is God in all of the tragedy our world has been experiencing recently?" We also have an interview with him.

Robert Moss, author of The Three “Only” Things, gave us an interview, as well as several articles: “Breaking A Dream Drought”and "The Secret of the Three Only Things"

Meredith Young-Sowers, author of Spirit Heals: Awakening a Woman's Inner Knowing for Self-Healing has given us an interview and an article on “Loss, Grief, and Grace: The Path to Healing.”

Marc Allen, co-founder (with Shakti Gawain) of New World Library shares with us “The Greatest Secret of Them All.”

Bill Plotkin, author of Nature and the Human Soul shares with us his perspective on “The Journey from Childhood to Adulthood: The Importance and Limitations of Rites of Passage.” We also have a lengthy (and fascinating) interview with him.

Finally, Eric Maisel gave us an interview and an article on “Creativity and Depression.”

As always, wWe are committed to creating a practical site that everyone can use. I always welcome your feedback and suggestions at:
