Forest Moon Grove Updates

Proclaimed by: Forest Moon Grove
Proclaimed from: Mount Vernon, Washington

Proclamation... Greetings and Happy FathersDay, Midsummer, and up and coming Faerie Day on the 24th. We had one couple show up at the Forest Moon Open House and we thank them for coming it was a good time.... I have to admit i almost threw in the towel for our lack of response but shall press on with our plans...and plan events as ideas come...any ideas you have please send as thats what a community is meant for. Currently we have 2 acres we are working with and have a garden growing with all your normal vegetables, a pomegranate tree, 2 elderberry trees and strawberries. We will be getting about 10 blueberry bushes, northwest peach tree, amongst other ideas plus a year round herb garden. I will be looking into greenhouse ideas as well as a chicken coop for a few chickens for eggs and a couple herefords to keep around for companionship and beef.
We are also working on a Pagan closet for clothes, pots and pans, etc for families first starting out or in need etc homeless shelters aren't always too helpful and we want to focus mostly on the Pagan communities but always welcome anyone with that as well. on that, we watch Craigs list and free cycle but if anyone has anything they wish to donate for the closet epcifically in WA State we can and will travel to collect at this point as Forest Moon now has a van (Yay) and i'm forcing myself to get beyond my PTSD and drive with the support of my mate who is always my pillar and by my side now as we move on. Her name is Ashley and she is my soulmate as well as was my secretary for Desert Moon Sanctuary and is now here as we move forward toward a WA State Sanctuary as well as new goals and plans.
On that as well, we are looking at travelling in march 2010 and will cover almost every state crossing across WA..into Oregon...Ca....down into AZ...Nevada...etc etc if your not on our list or unsure im getting the itinerary somewhat into play now so please send me an email with info and we'll start lining up central meeting places etc.
We do have a wish list if anyone has any of the following extra im not picky about age but our hq office here is in need of 2 any old tower computers and 2 laptops for when we travel...a digital camera for events...any gardening tools or farm tools....and again, any clothes kitchen things for the closet..Pagan books...incense, candles etc... any advice also for beginning the Sanctuary and what you would expect from coming to a Sanctuary...will be a self-sufficient community and Pagan Learning Center as well as we are here to support troops with EO complaints as well as Spiritual support.
I will be looking into starting up a Pagan coffee once a month for those in the Skagit Valley area of WA..will be in Sedro Woolley or Burlington not sure which as of yet will keep you updated as that goes, and along with that, will be looking into starting a Spiral Scouts in this area so spread the word so we can get a kids count of those interested.
Stay tuned for more on "The Gathering of the Groves" will be a 2-week Pagan retreat campout in August in Eastern Wa...we will be working with Wayne and Karma from Moon Flower Grove in Eastern WA, I'm looking for those of you interested in vending, speakers, seminars and groups looking at leading rituals. More on logistics will follow on that. I set it in August so it will fall between Circle Sanctuaries PSG and when Pagan Pride days begin.
I need help with anyone having knowledge of Podcasting or willing to lead a Forest Moon Podcast as I'm lost with beginning and what I need to start one but we would love to have a Podcast to broadcast updates, have speakers etc. Will also be working on a newspaper that Ashley is starting on so anyone who wishes to be a writer her contact info will be on the bottom with our full contact info as well.
We will still be having our booth at the Seattle Pagan Pride in September so will see many of you there as well, I'm still in the Army for the next couple months but that time is dwindling fast and I'm happy about that and will have full time to focus on Forest Moon Projects moving forward.
Again, I hope you all had a wonderful Fathers Day and Midsummer and will be in touch. Blessings. Eric and Ashley.

Goals of Forest Moon:
1. First and foremost ensuring our deployed Troops have the needed supplies and Spiritual resources needed while in a hostile environment.
2. Work on getting symbols for Military headstones approved for Druids, Asatru, and the Goddess symbol through the VA.
3. Get military regulation updated to change the gray areas our military chaplains sometimes use to discriminate against Pagan Soldiers.
4. Encourage the DOD to approve a Pagan Chaplain in support of our Pagan Troops
5. Local Pagan coffee weekly and incorporate Pagan Pride in the area as well as a 2 week retreat in Eastern Washington which we will sponsor.
6. Establish Spiral Scouts in the Grove to educate our children in our Pagan community.
7. Establish Forest Moon Sanctuary which will be a Sanctuary in Skagit Valley, Washington. It will be a self-sustaining community set up as an education center and working farm, so groups can come out to worship on untouched land, hold events, and have a sense of safe Pagan community.
