Forest Moon Grove Updates

Proclaimed by: Forest Moon Grove
Proclaimed from: Mount Vernon, Washington

Proclamation...

Greetings everyone and hope your having a wonderful Summer. A lot of new changes happening in Forest Moon to discuss and things moving forward. I’m having troubles in the Army with the medical board process and we are appealing their decision as we speak as apparently according to the Army in order to have PTSD you must have the new Combat Action Badge, which they never had up until 2 years ago. Since I did 4 combat tours and 3 were long before they created this badge, this psychiatrist I haven’t even seen or talked too has decided I have an anxiety disorder rather then PTSD because I was never given this badge. Retarded politics and It’s a not-so-fun battle so please light candles and think of us with politics. Anyway, on with good news.

Ashley has started a web-site for us, which will send everyone the link prior to August 1st when it will be complete. It will have our calendar of events, an on-line newspaper called The Grove amongst other columns. Now, what she needs is anyone who would love to be a columnist on a monthly basis or someone who just wants to submit an occasional article or commentary. We will have a classified ad section if you wish to sell items and if you own a store we need a link for our links page. If you are an author or artist etc we will be conducting interviews for our artist or author of the month so please let us know if you would be willing to be interviewed. We will also have an amateur only contest for the best short story, poetry, and art….one in each class will be published. There is also a page for our deployed Troops and a list so if anyone has friends or family deployed, please send us the address and a wish-list to add. If you have any familiars (furry Family) Cerridwenn the Forest Moon cat of wisdom will be sharing her wealth of knowledge and interviewing other familiars she selects each month. Please include pictures of said familiars.

I have emailed our district director for Pagan Pride and submitted already to have Pagan Pride in Mount Vernon, Washington for September 25, 2010 I will need vendors, groups to conduct 3 rituals, and anyone wishing to conduct workshops and classes on that date. This year Forest Moon will have a booth at Seattle Pagan Pride Sept 13, from 11-6 and possibly the Olympia Pagan Pride Sept 20, we will also be having our first Pagan Coffee in Burlington August 15 on a Saturday at 6:00PM more to follow on location. I’m also looking into going to the Portland, Oregon Pagan Pride as well since we went there last year, again, more to follow on that.

We will also soon be constructing a small building to house the Pagan homeless/disaster closet for the needy. We have a good collection of clothes, pots and pans and other kitchen essentials. Anyone wanting to donate can send anything to our HQ here address at the end of this newsletter. It’s also time to start thinking about having a Pagan Soldier Samhain drive to send supplies to our deployed Troops as we have many going overseas now. Anyone wishing to help with all the projects we do conduct, we do have a paypal email for Forest Moon now at forestmoongrove@gmail.com

Now, for our tour as well, we will be leaving March of 2010 starting across WA into Oregon….then California. We will then move up to Arizona…….then Nevada……and so on. We will be living in the van to cut cost unless your group has a place for us to stay. We are currently working on a Forest Moon presentation to show and answer questions on our projects and future events so if you have a group that meets, get me an address and contact phone and will add to our itinerary and post it on the website.

That about wraps up what’s going on, again I hope you all are having a wonderful summer, our garden Is growing wonderfully and we are getting a good idea of what really takes off for next years community garden when we take off that way. 2 acres is a good chunk for us to work with. Will be in touch and keep you updated as things progress. Blessings.
Eric and Ashley (Issy)
