Forest Moon September Newsletter

Proclaimed by: Forest Moon Grove
Proclaimed from: Mount Vernon, Washington

Proclamation... Greetings everyone, Wow time flies, it's almost time for cider and doughnuts. That crisp feeling is coming around slowly and my excitement builds as this is my favorite season. It's September and some of you have kids that already started school (Alabama and Southern States) and the rest start here in a couple weeks, drive carefully and watch for the young-uns as they head for the buses.
The chickens started laying eggs a couple days ago, and the corn has ears as the pumpkins have started there growing. If your local here in Skagit Valley, WA and surrounding areas then by all means come pick out a pumpkin and some corn and drink some cider with us.
The survival camp never happened due to lack of interest, so will teach survival and disaster skills on a demand basis as needed. Our next coffee will be Sept 19 again at Whidbey Coffee in the Burlington Mall from 1200-200. Sept 12 is Pagan Pride in Seattle if anyone wants a ride let us know and we can carpool from the Valley. Oct 2 is Bellingham Pagan Pride at the Unitarian Church will send out more details on that in the October newsletter. We filed for church status and waiting for return from the Secretary of State and then we will be an official church. We will be looking for a building to rent etc eventually but for now will just be coffee meetings monthly. If anyone knows of a building here in the Valley with cheap rent and Pagan friendly please let us know.
Issy and Baby Cheyanne are doing wonderfully well, Cheyanne seems to love Hindi music as she dances to it and seems to have better rhythm then us even though unborn yet. She even kicked me the other day. We look forward to her arrival in November. Issy's baby shower is being planned by Ria for an October date again of your local and wanna go will put out more info in the October letter. Also send us your address if you want a baby announcement when she is born.
For those if any, that havent heard, Isaac Bonewits passed on 12 August peacefully, for those that don't know of him, he was a great man, a Pagan Elder, Founder of the ADF (Druid Fellowship) and author of many great books. He was one that sent us books to Desert Moon in Iraq and supported the Troops deployed. Keep Phaedra his other half in your thoughts as well as his family.
I do have 3 Troops on our list for support and will distribute on an email basis for security, Again if you know of any Pagan Troops deployed please get me their address to add to the list and will get them packages sent out.
We do have a network site at www.forestmoon.spruz.com it has chat-room capability and we'll announce events on the site as well. Our current calendar is as follows:

The Mission of this organization shall be to provide a safe, open environment for the Pagan Community to gather and practice their faith; educate and prepare the children of our community in their Pagan Faith, as well as necessary life skills; and hold events to bring the community together in support of unity. The goals of this organization shall be: 1. To raise awareness of Paganism in the community, by: Holding educational events open to the public (i.e. Pagan Pride) And creating an open, welcoming environment 2. To Educate the children of our faith and provide them a safe outlet to express themselves and learn about their religion. . Establish Forest Moon Tribe; a children's scouts' group. We take on children aged 4- 18 and teach them basic survival skills, camping, fishing, swimming, as well as spiritual awareness of all the pagan paths, elemental work, spell-craft and ritual structuring, etc. As well as getting the children involved in Community Volunteer work. 3. To Provide an open environment for the Pagan Community to gather and practice their faith with others of like-minded belief. Establish a weekly meeting for local Pagans to come together and discuss general life topics in the Pagan community. Establish Forest Moon Sanctuary, which will be a Sanctuary in Skagit Valley, WA. It will be a self-sustaining green-living community, set up as an education center and working farm, so groups can come out to worship on untouched land, hold events, and have a sense of safe, pagan community. 4. To Provide support to those in need in our community. Establish a Homeless Closet, through donations, to provide clothing and kitchen essentials to those in need. Establish a Prison Ministry to go to the local Prisons and minister to the Pagan inmates. 5. To support our Pagan Soldiers while they are in a hostile environment and ensure they have the materials they need to continue their faith while away, by: Holding supply drives to gather the necessary materials to send to the Troops Holding fundraisers to raise money to buy the supplies needed to send to the deployed Pagan Military personnel. Working to get symbols approved for Military headstones through the VA for Druids, Asatru, and the Goddess symbol. Encouraging the DOD to approve a Pagan Chaplain in support of our Pagan Troops . Assist in Equal Opportunity problems that may occur with the Pagan Military Personnel.
