Greetings everyone, IT IS FACT, FOREST MOON IS OFFICIALLY A CHURCH. We are a Church under 501c3 recognized by WA State. We are now looking at building space and we are joining the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce on Friday October 1st Our next meeting is Oct 9 and we have moved the location to the Mount Vernon Food Co-op at 202 South 1st Street in Mount Vernon downtown. We always take suggestions for events and we need lots of fund-raising ideas as well as grants available which we are looking into heavily as we are going to be very community focused with a homeless closet for clothes, blankets, kitchen items etc. The prison ministry will be focused on the Monroe Prison here in WA.
Now, attached to this email is our vendors packet for Pagan Harvest 2011. If you plan on doing anything besides just visiting there is a spot for you to fill out. We WILL NOT be taking the fees until January 2011 when we have our Forest Moon bank account set up....however, I do need the application filled out and emailed back ASAP so I see responses and how much space I will have taken. There is no real space limit and all booths will have unlimited room as I have 3 buildings I'm renting and I want to have a 24 hr bonfire so will need fire watchers to tend the fire, this is steeped in history and tradition in Germany which is why I incorporated this into our event. I have a long list of guests coming for speaking and may have an Elders Table for a question and answer period of how various Pagan Traditions started/originated and how things are done in this Tradition etc. this is a good time to gather everyone together in celebration and learning about each-others traditions. I have many vendors coming from Canada our neighbors from the North including a wand and stave maker. I'm looking at a fun 2 days. Please get me your applications asap however so I can see who we have locked in and what the venues are.
Oct 2 is Pagan Pride in Bellingham at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 1708 I Street Bellingham WA. There are many vendors coming and I will be giving a workshop on Pagan in the Military, how they can be supported and issues they have.
I will be focusing also on a DFGL format which is a Distinguished Faith Group Leader, since the Military has no Pagan/Wiccan Chaplain. Forest Moon Grove as a legal church will now be affiliating Soldiers as DFGL's for the Military/ Army specifically since that is the branch I'm affiliated with and I know the Army regulations. If anyone has the regs for the Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard email them to me for our library if you could please. We are also forming a course for our Clergy a series of classes they must take and we are getting ideas as Oberon sent us his suggestion as to how Church of All Worlds does it. We are progressing and moving forward thanks to the support of all of you that have watched this dream grow over the years.
Oct 23 is the TERRA Tacoma Witches Ball starting at 6:00 PM at the VFW on Mckinley Ave in Tacoma. Tickets are 25$ Single/35$ Couple in advance and/or 25$ at the door.
Now, Oct 30 is going to be a busy day at Mystic Wonder all day. When the store opens we will have a Pagan Troop support packaging day, getting all the donations we have and putting them in boxes to ship out to our Troops we have on our list. Again, if you are deployed or know of someone deployed thats Pagan get me there address so we can get them added to the support list. Also, if you have stuff to donate to the Troops, if you are North of Seattle bring it to Pagan coffee on the 19th or call and we'll coordinate pick-up, 360-848-8515 for Eric or Ashley, if you live South of Seattle take it to Mystic Wonder 5505 Steilacoom Blvd Lakewood WA 98499 and his store phone is 253-584-4875. Troop support day will go from 11AM-1PM followed by DJ Conway's book signing from 1-3 followed by a potluck and a concert at 4 with Green Fay. There will also be a costume contest and lots of fun in general.
OCT 31 is our planned Samhain Ritual at Chris and Ria's in Daycreek.
Nov 13 is our Nov Pagan coffee pending on whether Cheyanne is coming into this world or not. If Ashley's not in labor then we will have coffee from 12-2 at the Mount Vernon Food Co-op 202 South 1st Street on the 3rd floor meeting room.
Dec 18 is our planned Forest Moon Yule party more to come.
