Forest Moon Grove News

Proclaimed by: Forest Moon Grove
Proclaimed from: Mount Vernon, Washington

Proclamation... Good Evening, just some updates coming up as it is all Pagans peak season and if you haven't had your cider and doughnuts yet well, then your just plain wrong. Love those leaves turning and makes me happy our days our ours and our baby is coming soon. The baby shower was awesome we have everything we need but some diaper cream, bottle inserts, and a bottle warmer lol. Simple stuff. If you wish to be on the baby annoucement list and also our Yule card list I need addresses. Some of you know, others don't....we lost all our corn to raccoons, but the pumpkins turned out awesome if you want one well just swing on by for some coffee and a pumpkin. Our chickens give us 5 eggs on a bad day and 9 if their all laying so we also have plenty of extra eggs floating around...almost literally sometimes.
Saturday the 16th is our Forest Moon Tribe kids orientation at the Burlington Mall Whidbey Coffee outside Macy;s at 1200. Please if you intend your kid to be a part of the Tribe show up and bring your kids so we can get started. We will bring supply lists, parental forms, and syllabus' and answer questions and get them enrolled etc. There is also a small supply list of things they will need to get as well and you can browse through the text book. We'll see about getting a special rate on getting the books as we do know times are tough. We discussed having the kids meeting 2 times a month and may plan a winter camp-out sometime in January for the older kids. Part of their survival training. Yes they will be learning woods craft as part of the syllabus for those that haven't seen a syllabus yet lol.
Something new also on our website at www.forestmoon.spruz.com we have Sunday Pagan chat starting at 7PM PST come in with your coffee sit down for a spell and we'll go from topic to topic.
Oct 30 is our trip to Lakewood, we'll be leaving around 9:30 AM to get a good start. From 11-1 is Troop packaging, we'll be boxing up spiritual supplies donated for our Pagan Troops going to Aghanistan, we have a group in Korea and there is a group we are sending to In Germany as well. Yule is coming up soon and we need to get their packages out early. If we have any kids that wish to make cards for them let me know. If you know of anyone deployed please also get me their address and a wishlist. I approached some other Pagan organizations about supporting their Troops and got no answer from either...guess their busy. But we do have a few Troops on our list so we'll proceed with them. Now, from 1-3 PM DJ Conway will be at the store doing book signings and conversation then there will be a potluck followed by a concert with Banshee. It will be a full day of fun, our van filled up fast but if you wish to drive and follow we may fill your car up to lol. let me know.
Now, the Ritual on the 31st has been CANCELLED and rescheduled for Nov 6 same time 6 PM at Chris and Ria's email me for the address. It is a potluck so bring your favorite dish. instead, on the 31st we will be home and decorated so swing on in again, and have coffee, cider, doughnuts, and enjoy the evening.
The next coffee meeting is tentatively scheduled for Nov 13 at Food Co-op 3rd floor conference room at 1200 this is based on whether or not we have a baby coming, watch your emails lol.
Dec 11 is our Holiday Faire fundraiser at the Burlington Mall from 1100 to 2000 (8:00) I do still need vendors and just a reminder there is no charge for your table but as a fundraiser i'm asking for 25% of your profits. Forest Moon will be having a bakesale and if you wish to partake in that by all means bake away. We are approaching some of our local merchants as well to ask for gift card donations for a raffle, if you own a store or are able to donate something for a raffle please let me know, we do have some things coming in from some of our friendly Pagan folk out there, and ty very much. We will also provide refreshements for our vendors, coffee, cider, hot cocoa etc. If you know of anyone who would want to sing or play an interest it would be cool to have someone playing Yule music in the background to add to the festive atmosphere.
Dec 18 is our Forest Moon Yule Party here at the house, that way we can put baby in her cradle if need be. It'll just be a come and drink coffee, have a potluck and wish in the holidays.
Here in Skagit Valley as a church we haven't had bad reception. We are Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce members, and thus will be going to business luncheons etc to network with them all. We do have a law firm that now networks with us so if there's any legal issues out there by all means give us a call and they may have contacts in your area they can refer you to. We are now looking for funding so we can find a building here and start the food bank and homeless closet phase as there isn't much support for those in need here especially since everyone is referred to a certain agency and they just don't like helping anyone, that we've seen first hand in trying to help someone and they wouldn't help...they are also being looked at by the VA since they aren't helping veterans like their supposed to, one day Forest Moon will handle that, we just need funding, a building, and away we go. I submitted for a grant to the Gates Foundation just waiting to see if we got accepted...please..light green candles lol. It takes 2 months so we'll see what happens.
I'll be working on DFGL packets and we'll get to submitting them to the Troops that need to be endorsed. I've already contacted the Chief of Chaplains in the Army and Forest Moon was added to his list of Pagan resources next we will submit for CFC (Combined Federal Campaign) and that'll also be a good source of income. one of our Troops that sees our messages suggested that and its an awesome idea. Once again, when we have the funding our main goals are Homeless Closet...Troop Support......and Forest Moon Tribe.
I'm still working on Pagan Harvest 2011...for those that don't know its Forest Moon's 1st annual celebration and we're working on our speaker line-up constantly and its growing. I have tons of room for vendors still and need some bands to come in and play. Get your vendor packets submitted to me as soon as you can if you have them. if not, let me know and I'll get them out. I also posted them on the yahoo group found at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/forestmoongrove/
