Forest Moon November Newsletter

Proclaimed by: Forest Moon Grove
Proclaimed from: Mount Vernon, Washington

Proclamation...

Good Evening, November is fast approaching so this will be the pre-november update as I won't have so much time sending out updates next month with baby Cheyanne being due. Will be an exciting month for sure. Saturday (Oct 30) is our party at Mystic Wonder from 11-700PM Troop packaging begins from 11-100 and my list is starting as we get Troops Forest Moon is endorsing but i'll address that momentarily. I hope to see a full house Saturday and DJ Conway is sending out autographed copies of her new book out in the packages to the Troops we have. from 1-3 Deej will be doing books signings and having a generally good time as she always does, do keep her in your thoughts as she prepares for eye surgery soon. Then from 4-6 is a concert with a local band called Banshee, the day is a potluck and costume contest so where a costume and I believe Deej is the judge.

Nov 6 is the Forest Moon Harvest Ritual at Chris and Ria's we'll be carpooling or convoying out there for all who need directions let me know and we'll meet at a central location and you can follow us out there, it begins at 6PM, and again, is a potluck so bring a dish. All events are kid friendly so kids are welcome anytime we hold any kind of event.

Nov 13 is next Pagan coffee at the food co-op in Mount Vernon from 12-200 in the 3rd floor conference room. come with your ideas as we'll continue fund raising and grant ideas as well as our Holiday Faire coming up Dec 11.
There is still much room for vending for anyone who hasn't locked in yet and we will have readers there as well, it will be in the Burlington Mall next to JC Penny's all day Dec 11 starting at 11AM. I charge no vending fee but am asking 25% profit towards our fundraising. I have an autographed book, "Gods, Goddesses, and Supernatural Beings" written by Melissa E. Anderson which will be raffled off, we will charge 2$.raffle ticket and if anyone has anything else they wish to donate for the raffle bring it Dec 11

Dec 18 is our Yule party here at the house will be late from 3-9 bring a snack tray or crackers, fruit etc. More on that as it gets closer.

Now, for our DFGL status, we have gotten good reception sponsoring our Troops and dependents for DFGL status. I get asked what DFGL is so let me explain. The military has no Pagan or Wiccan chaplain so they made a bandaid they call the Distinguished Faith Group Leader, my opinion its just someone to use as a fall guy should your faith group do something they don't have to take responsibility for, Navy calls them Lay Leaders, It has been my experience the chaplains will put responsibility on the Lay Leader (DFGL) when its convenient for the chaplain but when it comes down to the important stuff...ie. a Pagan Soldier dies.....he pulls the authority away from the Lay Leader which is why we need a chaplain of our own. But, until that time we sponsor DFGL's and I have worked with many chaplains and different groups for DFGL status when I led Desert Moon in Iraq and I feel we need to fill the gaps created by lack of support. Therefore, any group endorsed by Forest Moon will have all supplies and spiritual support covered by us.....as well as legal counsel since we also have a law office that sponsors us. I don't ever want to hear that a Soldier felt isolated or left out by there endorsing group neglecting them so it will never happen by Forest Moon Grove. That said, anyone having extra Pagan supplies ie candles, incense, altar tools, ritual tools, Pagan music cd's, faerie or Goddess art, coffee, creamers, and Pagan books can mail supplies to our HQ for distribution or if your in the tacoma area take it to Mystic Wonder 5505 Steilacoom BLVD Lakewood, WA 98499.

I do have a new cell number for contact at 360-202-7353 the weather is getting cold so keep yourselves warm, we'll see some of you soon, for those out of State we do meet Sunday nights in the Forest Moon chatroom 7PM PST at www.forestmoon.spruz.com

coffee is always on so if you find yourself in Mount Vernon give us a call and we'll have coffee and discussion. Blessings.
