Codes and Deeds: African Spiritual Practice Throughout the Diaspora
Onifa Adeola Karade, Foundress of Institute of Africana Cosmology selected for panel discussion at Seattle University
The Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas will present Codes and Secret Deeds: African Spiritual Practice through the Diaspora on Thursday, November 4th 2010 at Seattle University’s LeRoux Conference Center located in the student center.
From Santería to the metaphysical, the Black religious and spiritual traditions are not monolithic. Join us for a conversation of the traditions, practices and influences of Black religion and spirituality in the Diaspora.
Co-presented by Seattle University Division of Student Development.

Onifa Adeola Karade, MA, is an Ifa/Orisha Priestess , Foundress of The Institute of Africana Cosmology, Ile Iyemoo Osun Egun Adeyefa and Co Foundress of both The Forces of Nature Metaphysics and Spiritual Center and Ile Lailai all located in Seattle WA. She is recipient of The Iyanla Vanzant Award for Transformative Spirituality for over 25 years of community organizing and education in African Spirituality. Karade has been published in Sagewoman, Widdershins, and several online publications.
