Forest Moon Nov Updates

Proclaimed by: Forest Moon Grove
Proclaimed from: Mount Vernon, Washington

Greetings, this is just a brief update. Baby Cheyanne hasnít come yet her due date is the 24th but we feel she will be here sooner. Tomorrow we will be out and about taking maternity pictures by the river and around our valley and they will be posted on facebook. If you wish to get one of our baby announcements, I have a few addresses but not all so send me addresses for our Yule card and baby announcement list.
The idea has been brought up to make a directory for our Vets coming back, so our organizations know what is available in terms of PTSD treatments state by state. My main focus is on homeopathic, or reiki, type treatments centered for our Pagan Troops with healing needs. I know of one center in Nevada, and one in Texas Iíll list after I get websites etc for this. If you know of anyone that you feel should be listed by all means send me an email with their information. On that note, Iíve had a good response from some of our nation-wide Pagan shops that have offered to set up as donation drop points for supplies for our Pagan Troops, stores that support this will get a Certificate of Appreciation from Forest Moon, a link on our website, and I do have a Troop donation flier Iíll send you to put on the donation box explaining who we are. We had an excellent response from folks at Mystic Wonder on Oct 30th and I wish to thank all who participated. Since then, our Troop support list has grown and our next Troop support day is Dec 11 at the Holiday Faire in the Burlington Mall outside of JC Penneyís in the Community Room. It will be an all day event and weíll have vendors and a bake sale as a fund raiser for Forest Moon. We are also looking for more vendors and anyone who wishes to help out with the baking. If you do wish to bake please RSVP so we can give you the guidelines from the State on health requirements.Iíll also have a jar for donations to help with shipping costs. I do have a wish-list from our group in Baghdad and am working on that as we speak. I have placed our generic wish-list in the yahoo group site at where there is a wealth of information in general in the files section. The kids group has a file there with the syllabus and all relative paperwork involved. I also placed the DFGL packet there for Troops needing DFGL endorsement and we are working on a training program for that as well since we will be endorsing Troops new to their path that have never led a group before. For those that also donít know we have a Pagan chat every Sunday night at 7PM in the Forest Moon chat-room found at
Just prior to Samhain I did an interview on KOMO 4 news here in WA which can be found at along with that we were interviewed by the FT Lewis Ranger when we did our Troop Support day which is actually leading to a further article more focused on Pagans in the Military in general. This may lead to Forest Moon branching and starting a group in the Tacoma/FT Lewis area. It will probably be off base depending on the response we get from the Installation chaplain stay tuned for further updates. Due to the number of Pagan Military in that area that are not a part of the New Moon Fellowship which is the on-base Wiccan group, we feel the need to start a 2nd group on or off base as their seems to be an issue with the chaplaincy about a 2nd group being on base. That was a few years ago and times do change so weíll see what happens. I do have a group leader in mind for the Tacoma based group and will discuss details further when plans start to materialize.
We have been looking at storage units for our homeless closet and that shall be the first step in getting the homeless closet started and then weíll be collecting clothes, kitchen utensils and pots and pans, blankets etc to start helping our homeless. Itís getting cold and expected to be a harsh winter here in WA so we want to be prepared for those stuck on the street or hurting from the economy. Any further ideas on the various projects please feel free to email or stop by for coffee if youíre in Mount Vernon as our coffee is always on. We do have a new cell number at 360-202-7353 and can be reached anytime. Our next get together is Nov 13th at the Mount Vernon Food-Co-op in the 3rd floor conference room. It will be from 12-2 and will be our coffee meeting to discuss any new and old topics anyone has concerns or questions about. Dec 11 is our Holiday Faire all day and then Dec 18 is our Yule Party here at the house.
Again, on a parting note, we do really need supplies for our Troops, it is Yule, but my main concern is beyond Yule. It was great being in Iraq and getting all these great supplies and such during the holidays, and then it was like the holiday blues for another 9 months until we rotated back home. My goal is to keep them supplies every month until we have no more Troops deployed. Forest Moon Grove will be around millennia, our kids will take it over when we all pass on. To pursue that dream we need to join the Pagan Communities as a whole whether their military, cops, firemen, herbalists, the list goes on. The focus should always be Pagan Unity, not individualism or celebrity. Iím ranting here for a minute because of things I notice. Pagans should be proud of who they are and not hide it out of fear. Forest Moon has a legal office to help our members in that time of need and Iím learning of other organizations out there to help daily and they too will be added into our resource directory. Iím ranting because Forest Moon will remain strong as long as all stay together. Our kids group, The Forest Moon Tribe is there too train our kids to be the future leaders of our community be they Pagan or other. Preferably Pagan but they will be taught the choices.
Ok, enough of the rant, have a wonderful holiday season and hope to see some of you soon. Many Blessings.
Eric, Ashley, and soon Cheyanne
