Forest Moon in October

Proclaimed by: Forest Moon Grove
Proclaimed from: Mount Vernon, Washington

Proclamation...

Greetings of October, this is one of my mostest favorite months and celebrations of our Wheel of the Year. Living in the mountains of WA State and looking out over my porch thereís nothing like having a hot cup of coffee while watching the leaves change and breathing that cool, brisk air and enjoying the season. This is the Witches New Year, and a time of reflection and preparation for the cold and dark times as our pantry reflects. Ashley has another batch of Sauerkraut in the crock, and more jars to be filled with vegetables from the area. This year we got to close our loan on our farm and we have dairy goats, meat rabbits, and chickens so weíre off to a good start. We did some training in our Homesteader group and Forest Moon has taken off with some fun events so all in all itís been an eventful year for 2013. Cheyanne will turn 3 in Nov and Antheny will be 2 in Jan and they are loving the farm life. Next year we will be expanding our chicken flock and including some turkeys, we may even include some pigs and will be working on getting some Dexter cows as you can use the milk and meat both. We will be milking our goat next year as well and that gives us butter, cheese and milk and will cut back on our grocery bills including our garden and orchard we will be working on. You will all get to see our farm when you come out to Pagan Harvest Sept 6-7 of 2014 as well and enjoy the vending pasture along with all the workshops and musical performances. We still have plenty of room for vendors, if youíre interested go check out the Pagan Harvest group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/257402721051688/ fill out a vendor application and email it to medicyne_eagle@yahoo.com planning meetings for Pagan Harvest will start January of 2014 as we will need volunteers for various areas. Come out and enjoy our first fund-raiser which will be the 1st Annual Forest Moon Yule Ball Dec 15th in Renton WA from 6PM-10PM. More details and ticket purchase can be found at the Yule Ball website at http://forestmoonyuleball.bravesites.com/ .
Oct 12th at 2PM will be our Skagit Homesteaders coffee with a special focus on disaster management with winter approaching and we will have discussion on livestock for beginners. Bring your notebook and a mug and expect a good time. Oct 26 Forest Moon Tribe Samhain Class will be at 2PM for our kids group followed by our Samhain Celebration potluck at 6PM The rest of the calendar for 2013 is as follows:
November 2- Forest Moon Paranormal Coffee 2PM we discuss new cases and anything current involving the paranormal.
30 Forest Moon Tribe Meditation Class
December 15 Forest Moon Yule Ball Renton, WA 6PM
21 Forest Moon Tribe Winter Solstice Class and Celebration. Tribe will be at 2PM followed by a Winter Solstice Celebration at 6PM
31 Forest Moon New Years Party. Come out and enjoy the fellowship of your fellow Pagans and have a yearly Tarot reading, potluck and firework show.
More details on those events can be found at our Forest Moon group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/146047182249413/ all Forest Moon events are up here at our place in Concrete, WA you can email for directions as needed.
Our Troop support project has been going slow as in this political age it seems itís harder for our Troops to come out in the open with their beliefs due to ridicule and persecution. This isnít a proven fact just an observance Iíve made as we had many Troops that came to Desert Moon when we ran in Iraq and although we had our battles, we always came out on top. In this era I donít see so many Troops stepping out. Our Layleader in Kabul is preparing to come home and Iím not sure if we will have a replacement in that group so until we have more Troops needing support, we will wait and always be ready to do what we need to.
Hestiaís Closet is still going strong, we have been getting emails and phone calls for help and have been able to help with some of our resources, but with cold weather coming we always look for blankets, coats and other cold-weather clothes and shoes or boots. We also take small kitchen appliances, pots and pans. We do hope this brings you all into the end of the year on a good note, always remember when times bring you down thereís nothing like a hot cup of cider and a quiet reflection on the beauties of nature. Feel free to contact us with any issues or any areas we can be of assistance.
Blessings.
Eric, Ashley, Cheyanne and Antheny.
