Pagans United Press Release

Proclaimed by: Moon Panther - A WitchVox Sponsor

Proclamation...

From: Pagans United and Pagan Unity Campaign South Eastern Region
Date: November 1, 2004
Subject: Darla K. Wynne Needs Our Help!
Contact: Fallon Glenn (tennessee_puc@yahoo.com) , Laura Wandrie (laura@pagansunited.com)

On October 30, 2004, Darla K. Wynne was once again the victim of a brutal hate crime. While out looking for her dogs, she was hit with rocks that were thrown from a passing car. Once again, the police of Great Falls, South Carolina, did nothing.

Pagans United and the South Eastern region of the Pagan Unity Campaign, in a joint motion, would like to express our total outrage and disgust that these acts have been allowed to continue by those sworn to serve and protect ALL citizens. We ask you as fellow Pagans, and caring citizens, to stand beside us and demand an end to the attacks on Darla K. Wynne who has done nothing but demand equal treatment within the eyes of the law.

Pagans United and the South Eastern region of the Pagan Unity Campaign would like to encourage those of all faiths to take a stand for Darla K. Wynne and demand that the police of Great Falls put an end to these brutal hate crimes. Furthermore, we encourage everyone to contact their senators and representatives and encourage them to do their duty and help end these horrible acts of persecution.

"A man that does not know how to be angry, does not know how to be good. Now and then a man should be shaken to the core with indignation over things evil." -Henry Ward Beecher

"This is a sad day indeed when a person can be so badly abused by others because of her religion and yet nothing is done. Pagans United will be looking into this matter carefully and we will be seeking to file legal complaints against all parties involved if it is discovered that that there has been a violation of Ms Wynne's rights. The Police and the EMS people clearly dropped the ball on this case, and have shown a complete disregard for this persons safety and welfare. This matter will most assuredly be addressed and we will be seeking legal actions/sanctions against those parties as well. This simply cannot be allowed to continue. Darla Wynne's case is a hate crime and falls under the Hate Crimes Statutes which clearly states that acts against individuals on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or disability is a crime and will be prosecuted as such by the Federal Government."- Laura Wandrie, Pagans United President

"How long must Darla suffer before her brothers and sisters join with her to demand an end to these horrible acts? It is time for Pagan Americans to stand up and say that we will no longer sit idly by while one of our own suffers." -Fallon Glenn, Pagan Unity Campaign South Eastern Regional Director

Take action and join us in our fight for Darla K. Wynne's right's to freedom of religion and freedom from persecution. Let us know that you have taken action by emailing us at the addresses provided above.
