Proclamation...

Greetings,

I have attached a press release for a project very near and dear to
my heart. A 360 Acre Pagan Sanctuary and Grove. This will be the
largest in the country and will provide services and a place to
worship freely and openly. This has been in the planning stages for
over 30 years now. For more information on this project please
visit http://www.sabbatsgrove.com or my news site http://www.newage-
journal.com . I will be working hard to support this project and
help make it a reality, I hope you will join me in this worthwhile
project.

Brightest Blessings

PRESS RELEASE
PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY:

Beginning in the spring of 2005
Sabbats Grove starts to Rock and Roll
By Robert Clark (Maddowyn the Lion, Coven of the Mirror and Coven of
the Enchanted Forest)
This spring, Hopefully at Ostare, We will dedicate and bless the
land (and Water) of the phase one holdings. For myself, personally,
it is the realization of a dream that I've had for the past 30
years, but it is my son and his wife that are making it come true.
I'm retired now and can devote myself to the project, because I
don't have to go to work any more. They are able to devote
themselves as well and are much younger than Marsha and myself.
This phase is a 5 year commitment to establishing the vanguard for
Sabbats Grove located just 45 miles from Omaha Nebraska in
Southwestern Iowa. It is just the beginning of a long term
development project (in 3 phases) to provide for reclaiming the land
and celebrating the circle of life. We began the process the day
after Thanksgiving (something else to be thankful for) and should
have everything finalized by March. Then the process of
reforestation will kick off the start of the project officially.
Planting trees (we aren't waiting for Arbor Day) and seeds for the
future, are the two priorities for now.
Everything else depends on "cash flow" and the support of
everyone else in the Craft Community. While we are capable of
purchasing the land over the long term, how quickly we aquire the
whole 360 acres depends on festivals and other fund raising
projects, and the support we receive. We even shamelessly beg
for "contributions" to buy a tree, grow some herbs, build a privy or
anorak shelter, improve the beach, build a picnic table or two, or
about a thousand other things that will make things better even
faster.
The land contract is for five years, but we are hoping to
have the deed sooner than that so we can start "construction" of the
important necessities. Great Hall, Merchant Row, Dining Hall and
Kitchen, Mens and Womens Showers, Medical Unit, Gate House, General
Store and all kinds of park improvements to provide the best in
family camping and vacationing.
Because our ancestors were the worlds first
environmentalists, we have to do all of this in such a way as
to "improve" upon nature and compliment the ecology. It's not just
concept...it's our duty as Wytches. We cannot impact the natural
beauty of this land in any other way than sound management and
constant concern for all projects proposed for the park. Wildlife
such as deer, turkey, pheasant, otters, fox and everything else must
be considered. Stocking the lake will be a constant, ongoing project
because the otter keep eating all the fish.
With the Blessing of the land we will plant the 9 Sacred
Trees, not far from the lake in a grove on top of the Hill. Many of
the Sacred Woods already grow here. This land will become America's
largest Wiccaen/Pagan preserve and Sanctuary...Not just a home for
wayward animals.
Naturally, Those of us who are directly involved with Sabbats
Grove are constantly forking over a lot of money in order to get
things done as quickly as we possibly can. It's our new mission in
life, and we live and breathe at the Grove working our tails off and
slaving away most of our free time. There are currently three covens
which help things along locally, and several long distance groups
that are dedicated to helping us along through time and energy but
we need the help of as many as we can get.
We need to raise 10 Grand by March 1st for the Down Payment
(8 grand for the down payment and 2 grand for survey and lawyers
fees) on this parcel of land (the bank we tried going through wanted
a 45 grand down payment) so every little contribution will help.
Every Contribution will be greatly rewarded. Plans are in the work
from Goddess Dollars in exchange for Monetary Donations that can be
exchanged at the gates for discounts on Festival Admissions to A
donation Catalog for larger Donations that will get you free
products based on the size of your donations. T-shirts, Altar Tiles,
Blank Books of Shadows, Goddess Ankh Wall hangings, just to name a
few. If only we could "wiggle our noses" or "wave a magick wand" it
would be much easier to get Sabbats Grove up and running. Right now
it takes working Parties, Cash Flow and Maybe even bake sales or
something to get the funds rounded up for the down payment.
Contracts are drawn up and legal, and the owner is being kind enough
to grant us the time to raise the money, now all we need is the
support from the Craft Community. Please visit our website for
donation options and information www.sabbatsgrove.com
