Carolina Gonzalez's Profile...
I have been a Tarot reader for 23 years, as well as a self-employed artisan since leaving college at 19; I am a doll maker, a painter, a collector of religious art from all over the world, a lover of animals, music and all forms of art. I am crazy about anything folk-art themed, old craft books and vintage dolls.
I am deeply interested in doing things the old way. Hand sewing, hand carving, hand spinning and organic farming are some of my areas of expertise; I am also constantly learning and rescuing disappearing forms of art from many sources – libraries, oral traditions, and of course online.
This interest extends to every area of my life: from soap making to growing medicinal herbs, from foraging and wildharvesting to guerrilla gardening and charity, I am always looking to live a free, empowered life that allows me to fulfil my potential as a human being. My artwork is the natural result of a lifestyle where magic, artisan work and the love for nature are one and the same.
As a Spiritual Worker, my concept of sacred is much wider than usual, and I see that way of doing things as an offering to the Spiritual forces that guide us – for me, everything is sacred. Life is sacred, and I revere it by taking care of 9 adopted stray animals (3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 budgies) and doing charity work; Work is sacred, and I revere it by constantly improving my techniques, and never compromising the quality of my artwork; Nature is sacred, and I revere it by growing medicinal herbs, replanting endemic plants in the wild, and cleaning trash on the places where we wildharvest and do Spiritual Work.
