Autumn Song's Profile...
I hear the ancestors in the wind. I breathe in their ancient breath, feeling the sun upon my shoulders and the earth beneath my feet. I honour the spirits of nature around me, singing their soulsong in the twilight hours with the blackbird in the elder tree. I feel the spark of life dancing deep within as I gaze into the fire’s flame, carrying the warmth of the embers within. I drink in the waters of life, holding, sustaining, teaching of flow and release.
Druidry is my religion. I honour the land upon which I live, and live in accordance with the land, honouring the seasons, the ancestors, the spirits of hearth and home. I can hear the pulsing heart of these emerald isles, rich with spirit and history, the tales of the land rising like morning’s mist from a still, silent lake. I conduct rituals to honour nature, to deepen the connection to this land upon which I live, to the skies above and the universe in its whirling round. I dance in the circle of firelight, humming gently in the twilight, creating, sustaining and nurturing the threads of connection to life around me.
I am a Druid, working alone and as a priest for my community. I perform rites such as marriages and handfasting, blessings, funerals and other ritual works for rites of passage and seasonal celebrations. I am also available for teaching, and looking to start up classes in Suffolk soon – please see my website www.autumnsong.org for more details.
I am also an author, having written three books (one out of print) with the fourth one out in 2014. I began writing at the age of thirteen, creating worlds and stories in my head whilst walking in the woods or valleys of my home.
I am a member and former trustee of The Druid Network, writing articles, reviews and putting together a podcast. I am also a member of OBOD and the Order of the Yew, and founder of Spirit Grove, a pagan group based in Suffolk who gathered to celebrate the seasonal cycles.
I am also the Director of Gypsy Dreams Belly Dance. I regularly teach classes and workshops, performing throughout East Anglia either solo or with Lilith Dreaming and Gyspy Dreams Belly Dance (founder of both) . I am also a writer, singer and artist. I have written three books, Falconwing, a book of poetry, Instinct and Inspiration and the latest, due out this April – Zen Druidry. I am currently working on my fourth book, a pagan fiction about the story of the Lady of the Lake and Merlin, co-authored. This book, like Zen Druidry, is available through my pushliers, Moon Books. The working title for this story is Isle of Apples.
I moved to the UK twelve years ago, and have fallen in love with these Emerald Isles, their history and beauty. Inspired by nature, I find peace in the twilight hours, where the setting sun and soft stillness create a temple to nature.
