I've been a practicing Pagan since 1986, although the nuns would probably agree that I was a pagan child. I've been studying the Sumerian path since about 1995, started Wiccan as most have, and am drawn to Shamanism. I appreciate Ceremonial, know how to do it, once in a while feel like it, but I don't feel the theatrics are necessary for having a talk with the gods. Prayer works.
I'm aquarian enough to be irritating; I lack tact but I'm honest. I get impatient with people who speak out of their butt; if you are going to speak on a subject, at least have the good sense to have studied it for a while first.
I'd like to start a Sumerian temple. Having the Sumerian pantheon call to me was a surprise, I'm Italian, French, and Hungarian, I had nothing to do with it except to keep an open mind on my travels through the mythology and ancient history sections of the library. The pantheon found me and immediately took up residence in my heart. I then discovered that I have Jewish ancestry, so maybe there is something to the entire blood/DNA call.
A common misconception about Sumer is that it is NOT the stuff the Necrominicon talks about. The necro is really bad fiction. Sitchen is really bad fiction, too. A read through the Sumerian myths will show that to anyone who bothers to read them. The Sumerian myths are shamanic at their core, just as every other pagan path is.
I love animals, even my cats which I am allergic to. I got to know a macaw a while back, and I miss her. I'd like my own. I'm a reader, can't get enough. I'll read just about anything. I'm a scifi fan, and I write. I'd like to retire with a Number 1 Best Seller and invite Stephen King to lunch. I'd love to pick his brains on the subject of writing.
