I enjoy spiritual discussions of all types. I especially love to hear about real-life spiritual experiences. It need not be restricted to Paganism, as long as it is sincere, that is all that matters.
I have a variety of interests, and have been studying metaphysics and ancient mysteries since I was very, very young. My mother was an astrologer who encouraged strongly my spiritual gifts and talents, so magic has been something I have been practicing all my life.
I am very Wiccan, but follow my own Path. I come from a family of "Healers" from the British Isles. "Healer" is an old fashioned term for a "good witch." My grandmother married a Cherokee, so my family history and traditions are a combination of the nature-based cultures of the British Isles (Scotland, Ireland, and England) and Native American Shamanism.Our family has its own form of traditions that have been passed down. However, I have been trained and initiated traditionally and I keep myself updated on modern viewpoints, philosophies, and practices of Wicca and Paganism.
I am a History Major and I also teach Science. I have a background in Bible and Religious Studies, Classics, and I enjoy Art very much as a painter. I write novels and Pagan children picture books. I am not shy of debates, and I am very proficient at researching facts where I feel very confident in my opinions and beliefs where Paganism and religion is concerned.
I am not interested in fundamentalist ideals of how Paganism or Wicca "should and must be." I do not agree with Reconstructionalism. I think that there is a place for myth and folklore in modern Witchcraft and Paganism and should not be disregarded because it cannot be "proven with facts." Faith, spiritual beliefs and experiences do not need to be proven to others. I put more validity into having friendships with those pure in heart in their worship of Nature and the Deities than I do opinions and "facts" of popular authors. I believe the spiritual knows no boundaries and Deity can be found in any and all religious practices and paths. I believe that there is a Power in Myths that should not be disregarded, and there are forces at work in the universe that modern science cannot always prove or explain. Perhaps one day science will be able to explain that which is termed "mysterious", but in the meantime, I give validity to those events and experiences that could be termed the paranormal, the mystical, and the magical.
I have experience in teaching Paganism and coven leadership. I am now focusing on completing my college degree, teaching via the internet, and getting my writing published.
