I'm Steve, an eclectic Pagan from Central California whose path is always evolving as I learn more. My beliefs incorporate aspects of Taoism, archetypal Paganism, Gnostic Christianity, pantheism and freethinking rationalism.
I am the author of "The Gospel of the Phoenix, " published in July 2012. I have worked as an editor, educator, reporter and columnist. I'm active on Facebook, where I operate the Facebook Pagans of California group and the Pagan News Now page.
My personal belief is that the power of the collective unconscious (which I refer to as "The All" or "That Which Is") is the driving force behind the universe. How we interact with it - and find our place within it - determines our role within the grand scheme of things. The source lies within us, and we are an expression of that source. Our task is to find the center, abide there, and be aware. This occurs when we acknowledge our self and our surroundings in the single instant that is the present. When we rest in this understanding, we are at peace; when we struggle agaisnt it, we suffer.
Awareness can be achieved in various ways ranging from ritual and social interaction to scholarly learning and meditation.
