I am 30 years old (11-5-76) and I was raised Jewish, but in the past years I have found that Judaism just was not feeling right for me anymore. I have since then done what I can to learn about many other religions and have found borrowing beliefs from these other religions, mainly Pagan ones, merging them into a religion of my own was the way to go. No need to rely anymore on some one else's books or words alone, what I felt was right was the way to go for me. The Wiccan Rede plays a big part in my belief system, as well as beliefs in karma and reincarnation, not exactly parts of Judaism. I believe that when one moves on, they have the choice of coming back to try again or heading on to heaven. One thing I have kept from my Jewish beliefs is a belief that there is one single Deity, which I refer to as Godd. I like to spell it that way because I prefer the way that Wicca sees both the feminine and masculine aspects of deity unlike how Judaism tends to focus on the just the masculine. Godd, IMO, is made of infinite facets which are all the GODs and GODDesses that people believe in. In this way, I can talk to Godd and cover every base, or I can talk to a specific "facet" and speak to Isis or Thor or Athena or Bast when requesting help for a specific need. I also like how rituals and spells help me to focus my prayers more than the mere words of Jewish prayers does for me.
One last thing, IMO, every religion is right so long as it works for at least one person. All that matters is that your religion works for you.
