First took an interest in Wicca and Paganism at the age of 9; started mostly by reading a lot of mythology and fairy tales. Started serious study at the age of 17; Starhawk, Margot Adler, the Farrars, Isaac Bonewitz, Doreen Valiente. Self-dedicated at 21. Just turned 43. Raised Roman Catholic by a father who embodied what Catholicism is *supposed* to be--love, forgiveness, understanding--but knew I wasn't comfortable in a faith that held so little respect for females. Never looked back.
