Word has come to us that author Bronwen Forbes passed away on April 10th from a heart attack, she was battling cancer and on chemotherapy drugs at the time. Forbes was the author of “Make Merry In Step and Song: A Seasonal Treasury of Music, Mummer’s Plays & Celebrations in the English Folk Tradition” and the forthcoming “The Small-Town Pagan’s Survival Guide: How to Thrive in Any Community, ” both from Llewellyn Worldwide.
Her Witchvox profile: I'm a writer, a middle-aged mom, a tarot reader, and a dog trainer. I'm slowly starting to play music again.
I connect to the Divine by practicing various aspects of the English folk tradition including mummer's plays, seasonal songs, and dances such as the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance.
My first book, Make Merry in Step and Song, talks about the Pagan history of the English folk tradition, and includes dance instructions, music, songs, and folk play scripts that any Pagan group can incorporate into its holiday rituals.
