Brunhilde's Profile...
I am a career university music professor and classical vocalist for 30 years, recently retired from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. I am now employed as a Talent Evaluator for the State of Louisiana-Department of Education. I evaluate students in the areas of music and theater for admission to gifted and talented classes. I am also a performing member of New Orleans Musica da Camera, a professional ensemble specializing in medieval and renaissance music. http://www.nomdc.org/
I compose vocal music specifically designed for use in pagan rituals that celebrate the Wheel of the Year. I strive to create melodies that can be sung by the average person, with little or no musical training. My method involves researching authentic melodies from the Medieval and Renaissance eras in Europe, a time when Pagan religions still thrived there. I rework the melodies and rhythms, and write new lyrics for use in modern rituals.
Although I am a solitary Wiccan, I participate in local New Orleans Wicca circles and public rituals. I usually assist with the music. I am always eager to hear songs that are unique to the specific circle sponsoring the event.
I present lectures on Wicca, Scrying, Rune Casting, Pagan music, Neolithic Studies and personal psychic development to audiences in several venues: university humanities classes, sci-fi conventions, literary conventions, Wicca conventions, and internet podcasts.
