I am the founder of Covenant of the Pentacle Wiccan Church-ATC N.O.LA. and Wiccan activist, with experience in Human Rights work, from 1980 to present, including but not limited to actions on behalf of WItches, Gays and Lesbians, Legal Abortion, Battered Women, Survivors of Rape and Incest, Native Peoples and Inmates.
I have had the privilege of addressing these issues in the presence of Senate Sub -Committees, in Washington D.C., and Baton Rouge, as well as participating in legal actions that created precedent before the Supreme Court. (see West vs Shanks)
I work to support community, in a realistic manner, which suggests that I am no more or less congenial or flawed than any other human being. I welcome new members to our Church and community. I LOVE company! I have published an interactive workbook for children, entitled, ' MY FIRST LITTLE WORKBOOK OF WICCA.' It is a privilege to serve generations of Pagan families.
I work to educate fledgling law enforcement personnel about non traditional religious practice. I do not lead in with indignation, but realize that most Cowans are afraid and uniformed. I offer my help. which seems to work most of the time, and I find that patience is both my blessing and 'crown of thorns'. I keep at it. I take baby steps, with little drama or publicity, to pave a way to acceptance, tolerance and freedom for all minorities.
I am busy, tired and thrilled to be a part of meaningful change in this nation. I am not a patriarchist, but I AM a patriot. I respect the forsight of the Founding Fathers, which given the context of the times, was extraordinary and so very hopeful. I SUPPORT THE VOTE! It is one of the most important affirmations a Witch can do. Come and visit when you can. Blessed Be.
