Dislikes: People who abuse their authority. Have the irony of not being able to tolerate people who are intolerant and especially those who deliberately and PROUDLY choose willful ignorance.* People asking for advice they don't actually want. Drivers who endanger everybody else on the road just so they can be in front. The gross immaturity which is "Political Correctness."

Have been a solitary since about 1967-69. I had spent that summer helping out at the local Baptist church's "Vacation Bible School" and during the months following came to realize that I just didn't have enough hypocrisy within me to be a "Good Christian."
As a veteran myself, it makes me quite sad that the sacrifices of all the veterans of *everybody's* family are being co-opted as the property of the religious reich. Political myth, especially when so twisted and deliberately misinterpreted to suit someone's particular agenda, does not make for reliable history. All it does is fuel bigotry and a lust for tyranny. Just take a peek at the National Socialist movement of 1930's Germany for an example.
My one experience with pagan group worship put me into the hands of an actually Sociopathic HPs. This is a big part of why I'm touchy about people who abuse the authority of their position, whether it be a position of rank, job, public office, or community influence. Ask any old sailor about the difference between a "Brass Hat" and a real Officer!
I have been so isolated from people for so long that I jokingly refer to myself as being "socially retarded." Please bear with me while I endeavor to learn how to relate with people. During my many years I have been forced to believe that I'm a horrible judge of character when it comes to face-to-face. I'm sure there will be too-many "mistakes in progress" as I learn (one person with hurt feelings is too many) These mistakes will be based in my personal ignorance and stupidity, not from any intentional malicious feelings or designs.
I have inherited the family "gift" and am thereby cursed with knowing about the inside of things I have no reason to have any knowledge of. I have never enjoyed being forced to identify with Cassandra. I too often find myself wishing that I could refuse to witness the implications inherent in what is going on in our country at present. Even a broken clock is right 730 times each year.
Yes, I'm opinionated, very opinionated. However, I am quite aware that many of the opinions which I have come to could well be wrong. Why else would I have spent so many years reading to learn? And then searching out other sources and reading more and more? Some opinions have become very firm, while I hold others very tentatively, pending some convincing arguments.
