Selene Auset - Nebthet's Profile...
I am a 26 year old who follows my own path in the Egyptian Faith. I do not believe in the truth of orders in relation to religion, and everyone has to follow someone else's (other than the Gods) guidelines. I converted fully to my faith about 7 years ago. If you were to ask me who my God and Goddess were, I would say, take your pick, I have worked with at least 50 different deities (which in a pantheon of thousands is a small number) .
For those who have some knowledge of the area, I am close to being a Heliopolitan based that does not view Aset and Asar as the center of the universe (which puts me at odds with many of the dominant beliefs/believers) . I don't limit myself to a small group of Neteru, because it isn't a small group who only exists.
I have been studying culture of Egypt since I was seven (almost 19 years ago) . Aset and Nebthet called to me in a time of hardship and I answered. Now I am working to completely immerse myself in to the path laid before me. I have found a niche in divination and storytelling, though I am still very much a beginner. I happen to like all of the mistakes and stumbles I have made. It makes me who I am today. I am always open to listen and discuss with others.
I have a "Book of Divination" that is always ever-evolving. The list of projects I have just keeps getting longer, but is still enjoyable.
I am also an artist by trade and I have started to use ink and paints to write and draw passages from the various texts and pictures that illustrate the Egyptian religion.
I want to find some people to hang out with in the Twin Cities & surrounding suburbs and the St Cloud Area. I also am open to talk to over the internet and to eventually meet the people that I talk to. I am trying to network with others to find others I may relate to and to learn bits of pieces about the world we live in. I am not interested in being taught or initiated (unless I find someone who can further my understanding without trying to change me) , but to find those who say friend and treat me with respect and kindness. I have had run-ins with too many people whom claim to know it all and looked down upon me because my emphasis is on service to the Neteru and not armies built upon cliques and egotism.
