I've been a public Witch since 1976. I'm a Third Degree Gardnerian. Of Sicilian ancestry, I also practice and teach Italian Strega magic to serious magical students at my Covenstead in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
I'm clergy with the legal right to marry and bury like any monotheist.
I advocate for the beauty, antiquity, and validity of magic in daily life. I lecture about magic here and abroad, counsel folks worldwide, secure inmate religious rights nationwide, and have conducted a popular annual free public Samhain ritual each Halloween since 1995.
I'm a successful spiritual activist (for examples, I helped Missouri inmates get the Supreme Court ruling RLUIPA; got an anti-divination law repealed in 2004 (NC Gen. Statute 14-401.5) -- freeing Witches across the state to foretell future events; set national legal president by changing the hire-and-fire-at-will law preventing nurses from being arbitrarily fired when they advocate for patients (search keywords online: Deerman vs. Beverly Corporation) ; forced VA prisons to allow Pagan inmates Tarot cards; and saved hundred year-old entwined magnolia trees from a developer's ax by living beneath its boughs for 3 1/2 months...
I'm a spokes-Witch regularly interviewed in print (Washington Post) , radio (BBC, NPR, Paranormal Paradigm Radio) , and TV (CNN, etc.) .
