Likes: The odd and the curious things and people, nature in all its forms, being myself. I have a preference for cats and my cat teaches me things about the other critters, I might have missed, on my own in our morning walks. I love reading and enjoy writing. I like meeting people but at the same time I need a great deal of quiet time to myself everyday. I am an encourager rather a teacher. I try to fully enjoy whatever I am fortunate to have, be it abilities, things, or people. I like to focus on what I can do at any given time with what I have in skills and materials. I like it best when I discover a lesson in any experience rather than just reacting to the experience. I believe cooperation makes life easier and more pleasant. I like quiet. I believe the mind is the portable of playgrounds and that ideas are its toys.
Dislikes: Too much sameness, attempts to force people into known molds instead of encouraging them to find out who they really are and what they really want. I refuse to be unhappy about what I don't yet have, or what I cannot do and discourage it in others. I don't like noise. Don't like dealing with more than one person at a time. I don't like to be crowded or to live in any size village, town or city. I don't want to be a leader or a follower. Nor do I wish to be a conformist or a rebel, as both watch what others do and then play their part.

Being born in November of 1945, I am just a bit too old to be a baby boomer. I am the outsider who lives best where I am not expected to fit in. I am a person colorful to meet, but a bit of a trial to live around long term. I live in my mind more than my body. I am a very gentle person forced to survive Vietnam and the Marine Corps. I am the dreamer and I tell stories well. I read and I write and enjoy both. Though age and health has slowed me, I live with more humor, patience and less worry and anger. Though nearly dying I have finally learned to be me and like it.
