I have been initiated into the Risting Tradition, however the best description for me would be that of Christian Witch. Yes, yes, I know... but that's the best description I can come up with.
Contrary to popular belief, the "Christian" part does not negate the "Witch" part. However, I do find that I am no longer in the traditional type of Christian church. So, for now I mostly take classes (journey-level witchcraft) , and celebrate the turning of the wheel with friends.
I believe I have been a witch all my life, but it took me awhile to get back on track. I can remember being most interested in spellcrafting and witches when I was younger...I read and read and read anything I could get my hands on. Additionally, I see many witchy qualities in my mom. She doesn't practice, but she definitely has the gift of True Sight and I wouldn't be surprised if she had other abilities as well. I just think she has never really been interested in spiritual things...witchy or otherwise, so has not developed that side of herself. However, I am positive she is the one I get my witchy side from.
I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Reno - however, had I not landed here, I might not have had the opportunity to develop my witchy side for quite some time. I love that Reno is full of pagans...and I hope to meet more of you!
