I'm a Third Degree initiate of the Minoan Brotherhood and a co-founder of The Green Faerie Grove, an eclectic Wiccan coven for queer men in Columbus, Ohio that was founded Yule of 1998. I began studying Paganism in the late 1980s, but I began practicing spellcrafting in my youth. A lot of lineaged Witches aren't comfy rubbing elbows with the eclectics. I'm not one of those. It takes many folk to make a world, and given that I started out an eclectic I'd be a hypocrite to turn my back on them. Every path has its own strengths and weaknesses.
I am a co-founder and former co-facilitator (2002-2011) of the Between the Worlds Men's Gathering that takes place annually around Mabon. Its a place to practice and learn of alternative paths to gay spirituality within a community of like-minded queer men. I am a writer on topics associated with Paganism and queer spirituality, and my work has appeared in Circle Magazine, Outlook Magazine, and The Witches Voice. I wrote Chapter 2 - The History of Oils - for Lady Rhea's book "Enchanted Formulary" (Citadel, 2006) , and was interviewed by Margot Adler on the subject of queer Paganism for the latest revision of "Drawing Down the Moon" (Penguin, 2006) . I am the author of "Bull of Heaven: The Mythic Life of Eddie Buczynski and the Rise of the New York Pagan" (Asphodel Press, 2012) , the biography of the founder of the Minoan Tradition and a history of contemporary Paganism in New York City.
