Merry Meet, I am a 47 year old Wiccan High Priestess. I hold an administrative position in my tradition's group government of Clanhead. I am a mother of a beautiful daughter and wife of a wonderful High Priest. Family, immediate and extended is very important to me.
I began my magickal journey as a teen in the woods, enjoying the company of plants and studying the seasons. That is if I wasn't on the back of a horse. I read everything on natural magick and witchcraft I could get my hands on.
A friend introduced me to pow-wows and the Medicine Wheel way. I eventually found my self in the company of those deeper into Indigenous American spirituality such as sweat lodge, wheel of year festivals and Sundance. The Red Road was not exactly my path as I'm not of the Blood, but the ways of Earth are a part of my life. It had been impressed upon me how important tribal heritage is to ones personal identity. My family roots are from Wales and Scotland so learning those folk ways was better suited to my personal development, however I still retain and respect the Indian Way.
In the early 90's I returned to my magickal and serious herbal study and to a solitary pagan practice. I then found the Black Forest Wiccan Family and have spent many years working my way through the formal training and the mysteries. I have to say that it's living life through the Wiccan mysteries, the structure of that training and all the experiences of my life that has been the best teacher. Learning is a never ending process and I have learned much through teaching others the craft.
Working in Interfaith and Advocacy with the Interfaith Alliance of PA has been an enlightening experience. By learning more about mainstream religious organizations has given me the opportunity to show them modern paganism and Wicca is not something to be feared. It has been challenging, but it is proving to be rewarding and healing as well.
