Hello everyonle! Bright bIessings and welcome to my corner of the vox. I'm a 27 year old woman who has been walking the path for about eleven years now. I am a happily married woman to a man who is a nature lover and a U.S. soilder. I have a two year old daughter who loves fish, shiny rocks, and cats. Our newest addition is a yorkshire terrier named Willie. Although now I am soiltary, I very much enjoy group study and observance. We have recently relocated to El Paso Texas and I'm researching the local community here. I look forward to making new friends while keeping up with my old ones.
It is about time I extended my profile a little so here goes. I'll have to admit that over the past three years or so I got really comfortable with my small circle of friends who have been family to me. As often happens the winds of change swept into my life and have carried me forward to a new place. It hasn't been an easy move. I've been very reminded of how hard it can be to find people who are of "like-mind" and just how grateful I can be about having a pagan community to be apart of. Instead of being suffused with apathy or afraid of that 'unknown factor' in starting all over I reminded myself that I am a witch and that the community is there I just have to reach out for it again.
After searching online in the local community I found the Unitarian Community. Within the community was a group of eclectic pagans that gather through the month and for esbats and sabbats. Around the same time I found out about the Ft. Bliss Open Circle group, located on Ft. Bliss. Athough we had initial difficulty in getting the group advertised it is now posted in a local paper called the Monitor. For those of you interested in either of these groups you can find them both on face book by searching: Ft. Bliss Open Circle and UUCEP Pagan Spirituality Group. For some time now I've been fortunate enough to be able to lend a teaching hand to both groups and meeting wonderful people of like-mind.
There are major efforts to network the Pagan communities in the surrounding areas of El Paso, Las Cruces NM, and Alamagordo. Rencently, a coucil was formed to organize PPD (Pagan Pride Day) which will be held in Las Cruces. We have been able to network pagans for fund raising purposes that will go toward this endeavor. Our most recent event was the Las Cruces Divini-tea. We had many readers come out for the community. There is another Divini-tea planned for the El Paso area on July 13th, 2012.
And some wonderful news comes for all of us in October as well as there will be a Witch's Ball!
Needless to say, I've been one busy witch but I have never been so proud to see a community bloom in the way this one has!
