Likes: I like a lot of things. Certainly more than I dislike, I think. I like rain, and England. Especially England. Old, pretty things, like cameos, and old telephones. I like getting dressed in the morning, and crafting, and reading, writing, and watercolor-ing. Getting dressed is like art to me. I love learning about new things, especially mythology and languages, alphabets... etc.
Dislikes: I do not like it when dogs lick me. Disclaimer: I like dogs. Just not their saliva. I don't like it when humans drool on me either. It's just not cool. Sorry. Also, I don't like people who insist on talking incessantly about things about which they know nothing or very little. Right at the bottom of the list of things I don't like is Homework. Yep-- you got it. If it's interesting, I've got no problem. Like, physics. Physics is cool. But math analysis? I'm sorry. No. Never. AAAAACKK!
Vervain's Profile...
I've been studying Wicca for just over 2 years now. I've decided it's definitely the path for me, but have only found the time to cast a few circles. I do celebrate the sabbats and esbats, though not as fully as I would like to have time for. I have only once tried a spell, and I am still working on collecting all of my ritual tools.
I only very, very recently chose the name of Vervain, but here are my reasons: One word that I wanted in my name was rain, for several reasons-- first, that whenever it rains, I am totally in my element. I cannot explain what it is about rain, but I feel totally at peace no matter what I have on my mind. Second, that music is a hugely vital part of my life, and rain, as I'm sure you'll agree, makes some of the most beautiful music when it falls. Third, rain, being water, is vital to life and growth, and I can always use some help growing. I felt like attaching that to my name would be a sort of lucky charm. It has been so far. You may not see where rain comes in yet. My name could not simply be "Rain"-- it did not fully describe me, and was not balanced right for me. I thought about "spring rain" which I liked... but I wanted to make it sound more balanced, still, so I translated spring into latin: Ver. Ver Rain. Which hit me like an acorn on the head: Vervain! I looked up the properties of vervain. It is an herb used by the Ancient Druids in a potion called the "Cauldron of Cerridwen" to stimulate creativity, and is sometimes still used in a tea to do the same. It is also a common healing herb, and an aid during childbirth. This name really hit the nail on the head for me. I had incorporated earth (my element, and that of the Goddess) , rain (for me it meant music, growth, peace, calm, joy) , spring (new beginnings, the beginning of my Wiccan life, the start of a new journey, that I am a maiden in the maiden mother crone cycle in many ways still) , and with vervain specifically, I had brought in creativity, healing, growth, and a little bit of luck.
Thus, my name: Vervain.

Also, I didn't pick a sun sign because I'm on the border b/w Scorpio and Sagittarius (Nov 22) , and show signs of both.
