I am a Traditionally-trained Solitary Pagan/Heathen living in Reston, VA. I am married to a beautiful woman who follows a personal Mystical Christian path, and we are blessed with two marvelous dogs – Winston and Beowulf – who mostly just follow their own noses.
Our house is called “Cnoc Madraidhe, ” which is Irish Gaelic for “The Hill of Dogs.”
I began my journey on the Pagan and Heathen Paths through the work of Michael Harner in the discipline of “core shamanism.” From there, I studied Traditional Wicca for several years, but actually received my Third Degree in a rather spontaneous Initiation from a very powerful and accomplished Priestess whom I was working with at the time. Subsequently, I began to investigate Asatru and modern Heathenry, as well as the shadowy nooks and crannies of British Traditional Witchcraft. My current practice is therefore highly eclectic, although I maintain a healthy respect for and vigilance against the pitfalls of that eclecticism.
Some of the Traditions that influence me the most are British Traditional Witchcraft, Wicca, Druidry, Asatru, Vanatru, Dark Paganism and, of course, core shamanism. My primary cultural and mythological foci are Ancient Celtic and Ancient Norse. I am a life-long student of the Oriental martial arts, so my spiritual framework is also heavily influence by Zen and Taoist philosophy and practice.
I am proud to be a Pagan/Heathen in Recovery, and I am always eager to hear from other Recovering Pagano-Heathens.
