I am a pagan; a warlock, of the root word vard-lokkur, meaning "caller of spirits" in Scandinavian languages. I do not use the title of 'witch' nor does my family. That is singularly used for female members of the faith.
I have practiced magic since before I was born, by the word of my mother. She stated that she knew that I would have the gift due to her feeling my power as she was pregnant with me. She was a Druidess and my father a Gypsy.
I was raised in a pagan household, shrouded with the belief that we were Catholics to the outside world. It was the perfect way for us to practice our Craft and be key members in the local community.
I was drilled to believe in blood purity above all else, for only those within generational sorcery should be allowed to practice it. That these were heavily guarded secrets not meant for those of peasant status; what we call dusmanie, which means bad blood in Romanian.
I am the Patriarch of my line, for both of my parents have passed, as have my grandparents. I am also the strongest magical member of my kin, so I have the pleasure of wielding and controlling the families magic.
I believe in reincarnation as well an a utopian afterlife. Some after death go directly to the afterlife, while others simmer in the Otherworld waiting to be reborn. These can be for multiple reasons, including: needing to reach there full potential or use there unique knowledge to help others on, the path to spiritual fulfillment.
I believe that demons are real and have to power to harm mortals as well as other sentient beings. I should know, I had my own trouble with a demon (Belial) when I was a child.
I possess a supernatural tome that I call a Grimoire instead of the Wiccan adoption of the "Book of Shadows." The original one started with my great grandmother, Ollie McFarland, otherwise known as Mistress Dyriana; a dark sorceress. Nearing the middle of the first decade of the 21st century, with the passing of my grandmother, the Grimoire was burned seven days after her death. I was allowed to use my inherited edietic memory to gain all the knowledge of our House and to transfer it into the latest tome of the family, as it has and will be done in the future every 120 years.
