Dark Versus Light

With a deadly force
It was wiped from my life
With a powerful thrust
It was shattered into a thousand pieces
All that once seemed perfect
Has now been spoiled
All around me is nothing but a dark cloud
Like evil clinging to the air I breathe
My hopes and dreams were quickly shattered
Like a fragile glass under a hammer
My heart is now a cold stone
Dark and evil like that which surrounds me
There is no end to my suffering
I must endure it forever
Or find a way out of this terror
That which has become my life
I know there is light somewhere
But I cannot see it through the thick mass
That closes me off from the rest of the world
Like a dark fog blocking out other life
Preventing me from discovering love again
Keeping happiness out of my life
There is no end to this, or is there?
I must endure it and have a little faith
For although my heart is not loved
On the inside it is full of love to give
And love is the light I need in my life.

Author's Notes: Something that I wrote when I was full of emotions. I felt different and I didn't know how to explain my feelings. Two months later I discovered I was pregnant and in January 2003 I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy Seth.
