the light

The light...it’s coming to me….then fleeing…
The solemn, modest pinprick of light. Hovering at the end of the infinite passage.
Walking towards it with legs bearing lead weights, they strike and grind and protest and I can’t…
The beginning, that which is my end looms ahead, behind me.
Fear like a fire grasps my legs and latches onto my feet, grabs the hair upon my head and rips it of in chunks…
Consuming every thing in its path like a man focused on his goal, no such thing as obstacle, lurks to the side devouring the weak…
It is too late to call upon help, I refused that so long ago…to late…the end stalking me… the wails and cries of the trapped. I must not give up. The passage walls and cavern ceilings confine infinite souls, their blood curdling pleas droning on in my mind…help…help…agony beyond agony strikes my raw back like a serpent, a spear plunging, puncturing, stabbing. The gushing, cracking, no escape … no escape…dripping like a leaf after the rains, the redness engulfing my body… I turn around ready to look it in the eye…
Nothing, the pain o so brutal, infliction of malicious hungry beings of my mind devouring my sanity…I am me…it is not me… but him… the reflection in the mirror… to late…its just to late… breath…black….white…piercing screech…nothing…. THE VOICE SAID NO…………………
