The voices

Sorry always seems like the
Hardest word to say. Once
The voices start, we back away
Why that happens we don’t know
But really we do!
Because once the voices start,
There’s no taking back
What was said. The moment
A word finishes, there goes a
Slap or a punch.
Either way someone cops it,
But if something goes wrong
There goes our home.
There are always tears in her eyes
As she tells us everything will be
Wonderful. Things are never wonderful,
They always stay the same.
Nothing ever changes,
The fights will never stop.
The voices will never be silenced.
We hope and pray.
But the never stop or change
