Masks

Again I went to bed last nite and I
Removed the mask, that mask that
You thought was destroyed. Things
Like that never are, not with me.
So again I wake and not want too
But I do and I may not be fully
Awake but again I put on that mask
I look in the mirror and I smile
Although it ain’t real, I don’t think
I have ever smiled a real one in years.
So you thought the mask was destroyed
You thought you had infiltrated it but
No, many times to you I displayed a
Mask, that’s all I know how to do
Ya know.
So again tonight ill go to bed and remove
That mask and I’ll cry myself to sleep and
No one will know, and again in the morning
Ill look in the mirror and smile but again, though
It won’t be real, and those around me will never
Know.
So then day by day and months and years ill
Lose another part of my real face and no-one
Will ever know, can u show me my real face?
Because I know I can’t.
