I do not like this country
Its winds are chill
That even colours shiver
Beauty is absent
And the sounds of laughter
Screams out its silence
I do not like this country
No softness is here
Voices like crushed flowers
Empty lay, unused
Eyes openly shed tears
That dry like blood
I do not like this country
This undead place
Furtive air congealed like wine
Lost to taste, impotent
Phantoms pass with solid sighs
Grating the ear
I do not like this country
Intimate strangers
Choke me with the causeless cares
Hard faces, hands, mouths
Mock my exile from pity
End it, forgive, restore
Bring me home
Author's Notes: This is from a series of poems I wrote in regaurd to my Bi-Polar disorder and how with the help of the Gods and friends I cope
