Never to know of true love

Age Group: Adult
The cry the hurt the abuse of the child,
in the corner cries her soul exiled.
The fighting echo's a love torn home,
frightened trembling all alone.
Too much hate, too torn to care,
the scars too much for her to bare.
Now years on a Mother sworn,
protective of her child she born.
A father left to wonder why,
in the hour of night he hears her cry.
For in separate rooms they spend there lives,
Her nightmare held behind her eyes.
A life was lost so long ago,
in a child too young to know.
The guilt the blame she held to herself,
never letting her heart be felt.
Never to know of true love,
never knowing who to trust
