In the Dark of Night

Age Group: Adult
In the dark of night, the Crone is there,
When pain abounds, her scissors pare.
With the release, your soul is bare,
In the moment, to the Goddess's care.
Is She evil? Macbeth thought so.
Just goes to show how little he knows.
Into Her arms, we must go.
To the night with Moon aglow.
For She is old, but She is wise.
But Her presence here most despise.
Only those who look into Her eyes.
Smile and sigh, grateful goodbyes.
For what is death, a mortal blow?
Something to fear? The Hell below?
Eternal torment, the soul bestows?
Fear and fright and torture you know!
But in my mind I can see.
The Greater Path for you and me.
The Crone she guides and cuts us free.
For the next step. Eternity!
A Shock. A Slap. And we will cry!
Through newborn lungs, eyes see sky.
The soul reborn, Angels on High!
New path to tread, Goddess replies.
Author's Notes: When we travel the dark path it is never alone.
