The Golden Dance

As the golden orb returns to Earth
The West Wind warns to prepare the hearth,
Fields stretch out for the final rays,
And the trees stand ready to come ablaze.
The rainbow blooms have faded away,
To rest and await the next bright day;
The swollen fruit, which grew plump and round
Now prepares for new life beneath the ground.
Final crops stand waiting and tall,
Grains are ripe and prepared to fall,
Sweetened nuts sense the darkness creeping
And the Final Harvest awaits the reaping.
Warm wood smoke billows up high
As the eternal ember sinks through the sky,
And emerald leaves begin to turn
To reflect the flames that dance and burn.
Soon the amber trees will begin to shed
Their golden showers of orange and red,
A final warmth to stir the air
As the endless branches become cold and bare.
And as the black crow's wings snuff the fiery light,
Bringing with her the frost and the night,
Her harsh call guides you back to the nest
For this dark period of renewal and rest.
Author's Notes: Yay, Winter is coming! Winter is coming! ^_^
The transition between summer and winter must be some of the most beautiful times on Earth, and so inspired by the season and mid semester exams I felt it was about time I tried writing something again, haha.
