Eternitys Tears

Eternity’s Tears
I sit and look at my open veins
Running slow and red
Each drop a memory
Our first meeting
Laughing and flirting
A dance of hope
Of possibilities
Our first kiss
The taste of you
Lingering
Until the next nights caress
Our first joining
Flesh, soul, spirit
Flaring across the night sky
Burning the heavens
Our first born
Love and promise made flesh
Laughing in delight
At all the possible tomorrows
My first night alone
Reaching for you
Finding an empty place
Where your soul used to be
I sit and look at my open veins
Running slow and red
Each drop a memory
Eternity’s tears
Author's Notes: This was written as I was thinking about the sorrow caused when love ends and where all the emotional grief goes. Any comments welcome
