The trees are grey now
People’s voices, brittle like glass
Shatter against me
Leaving me bleeding
Their eyes condemn me
Branding me as they walk by
Worthless, worthless
They are unheeding
The black cloud obscures me from their world
Of bright colours
Laughter and joy
I have been in these dark caves before
Huddled, helpless
Yet not broken
I have found light again before
And will again
Some day, the trees once again will be green.
Author's Notes: this is one in a series I did about the negative aspect of bi-polar disorder and how the Goddess and the love and patience of friends got me throught it.
