Spirit Bird

Spirit Bird
embraces her in a coat of midnight feathers
glistening with the violet hue of mountains
before darkness descends
She flies across plains
Soaring in exhilaration
For soon she shall lie with her mate
Tonight she shall feel the warmth
of his scarred hard body
The day shall claim him alone
as warrior
But the night belongs to love
Spirit Bird
shall free them both
He lies on buffalo hide
Beside a circle of stone fire
Crow enters
Piercing him with yellow eyes
A message
that truth is in this moment
His Beloved calls
He waits transcended
Her name upon his very being
Black hair revealing golden skin
where once feathers lay
My love they whisper
