Pan on a Chain (Break Patriarchy's tethers)

Yet another Pan
tethered to a chain
In utter disdain
Patriarchy's
cruel creation
of a lawnmower
I ache in pain
goddess bless
goddess bless
I love a man
who loves a woman
who has lain too long with Zeus
A poet caught in Patriarchy's game
of illusion, claim and maim
I ache in compassion
goddess bless
goddess bless
Alcohol
The shroud
that cloaks the living children
of the Great Mother
Patriarchy's final solution
to any hints of revolution
Worn down kindred bonds
Annihilation
I ache in despair
goddess bless
goddess bless
Yet I know this is all changing
I beseech you continue
attend to your awaking
see the tethers that need breaking
and break them
gnaw at them
grind them
crush them
dissolve them
ceaselessly
day and night
For every goat
is a woodland god
longing to return
to rocky mountains
Free again
to lie in Her valleys
grazing sensuously
on succulent wildflowers
