Star Wanderer

I cast my boat on the last ray home
As silken waves sing the passing of light
And I alone am letting go
No oars to resist the gentle flow
Of currents known only to Lady moon
And I Her child Star Wanderer
I call forth it’s I the wanderer
Who’s coming home, I’m coming home
Along ley lines of silver moon
And have the secrets of the light
Held gentle beneath the sway and flow
Of water’s turbulent and dark
For I have lain with one so dark
Forgot my name was Wanderer
And only he did ebb and flow
And only he did feel like home
And only he did hold the light
That soon I saw no more full moon
My Lady moon, dear Mother moon
Translucent still within the dark
Reminding me of my own light
Sang quiet my name Daughter Wanderer
Held me still while turned from home
And took me to her own blood flow
And black turned red before the flow
As silver shimmered golden moon
Reflected Herself as beacon home
And at last the grasp of lover dark
Like leaves released and I wanderer
Rose and ran in trace winds of light
Day follows night in the circle of light
The grand Mystery shall always flow
Through every cell of every wanderer
Who looks for truth beneath Her moon
Who dares to love majestic dark
And bring them both by river home
Star Wanderer, you are the light
Returning home, amidst the flow
Of each new moon, white and dark
Author's Notes: My attempt to use the Sestina as a vessel. May still well be a work in progress.
